Identity, representation and coming of age have always been themes that the two of us at the Lakshmi and Asha Show have been naturally drawn to throughout the years -- but we somehow haven't covered as much nonfiction exploring those themes as we perhaps could have.
Our ears naturally perked up when we got the chance to take a look at sociologist Anthony Christian Ocampo's new book "Brown and Gay in L.A.: The Lives of Immigrant Sons" because it seemed like the perfect chance to expand our range a little.
